Sundowns coach issues update on pre-season progress
Mamelodi Sundowns set-piece coach Michael Loftman has issued an update on the club’s pre-season progress.
Masandawana spent the first leg of their preparations in Rustenburg. They are now in the Netherlands for the remainder of their pre-season before the start of the 2023/24 PSL season.
Ahead of the new campaign, the Tshwane giants have added four new faces; Lesiba Nku, Junior Mendieta, Lucas Ribeiro Costa and Thapelo Maseko.
On the other hand, they have parted ways with Lesedi Kapinga, Haashim Domingo and Andile Jali. Cassius Mailula may be the latest player to leave Choorkop after interest from MLS side Toronto FC.

According to Loftman, all their preparations are moving as expected, they are now in their final phase before the start of the new campaign.
“Pre-season is a very tough time for players and a critical time of the season to get things right once. We’ve had good progress so far, we are in the second phase,” said Loftman.
“We’re looking to progress more in the testing, the physical building and the conditioning with tactical elements to check the players’ understanding for the upcoming season.
“There are a variety of aspects that are important in pre-season, from the social elements, bringing the team together and emerging with the new players.”

Loftman further stressed the importance of focusing on the conditioning of the players.
“The physical part is still important getting the conditioning part so the players can stay injury free and perform to their best level throughout the season.
“Across all our departments in the club we’ve achieved our objectives, we are ready for the next season,” he added.
