CT City strengthen midfield with signing of ex-TS Galaxy star
Cape Town City FC have bolstered their squad ahead of the new PSL season by signing ex-TS Galaxy midfielder Tshegofatso Nyama.
The club shared the news on Sunday 23 July that the midfield engine has joined the club on a longterm deal.
Nyama becomes City’s first addition ahead of the new campaign which kicks off on Friday 4 August.
Nyama has already made his presence felt at the club after scoring a goal in a 1-1 pre-season match against Stellenbosch FC.
He was one of the key players for The Rockets last season.
All-in-all he made 26 appearances in all competitions. 25 in the league and one in the Nedbank Cup. His efforts in the field of play helped the team keep 11 cleansheets.

“Cape Town City is delighted to announce the acquisition of Tshegofatso Nyama,” said City on Twitter.
“The 23-year-old South African signs a long term deal. Welcome to the Mother City El Mago!”
At City, Nyama will not a guaranteed starter as he will be facing stiff competition from Thato Mokeke, Thabo Nodada, Taahir Goedeman and Relebogile Mokhuoane.
CAPE TOWN CITY FC EYEING A BETTER SEASON
Last season, the Citizens had a fairly good campaign as they finished fourth in the league despite a slow start.
Ahead of the new campaign, Eric Tinkler and his charges will be eyeing a better finish. This time around there are also better chances of winning a trophy with the introduction of new cup competition the Carling Black Label Cup.
The club also managed to keep the core of their squad keeping important players like Khanyisa Mayo. The striker performed extremely well last season finishing as the joint top-scorer alongside Sundowns’ Peter Shalulile.
