Bafana star Bongokuhle Hlongwane hits double figures overseas
Bafana Bafana star Bongokuhle Hlongwane continued with his rise in stock in the Major League Soccer [MLS] after hitting double figures in terms of goals.
The Bafana Bafana attacker has undoubtedly become a household name due to his relentless effort to uplift his MLS side.
Bongokuhle Hlongwane was one of the top performers as Minnesota United thrashed Puebla on Monday morning.
Minnesota United beat Puebla 4-0 in a league Cup match, with the Bafana Bafana attacker and Emanuel Reynoso scoring a brace apiece.
Hlongwane also assisted one of the goals that was scored by Emanuel Reynoso. The ambitious team won despite being one man down after Micheal Boxall was sent off in the first half. Boxall is an ex-SuperSport United defender.

The brace lifts the Bafana Bafana attacker to eight goals this season in all competitions. For Minnesota United, Hlongwane has now scored ten goals since joining the club.
He is slowly becoming the club’s reliable goal-getter, having declared that he wants to set a marker in the Major League Soccer.

He was picked by David Taylor in a sizzling counter-attack, and the Bafana Bafana forward outpaced defenders with strength and speed before firing home.
They were reduced to ten men on the half-hour mark when Micheal Boxall was given his marching orders.
And having been reduced to ten men, Hlongwane went into overdrive for the Major League Soccer outfit.
The Bafana Bafana attacker completed his brace after 51 minutes, darting the ball home from Emanuel Reynoso’s cross.
Eight minutes later, Hlongwane assisted Reynoso, who scored the third goal. The Argentine completed his brace in the 65th minute. And that was all Minnesota needed to seal, and league cup win.
Overall, the ex-Maritzburg United attacker has featured in 22 games across all competitions for Minnesota this term.
