Sephelo Baloni’s utmost promise to Orlando Pirates

Orlando Pirates’ new signing Sephelo Baloni has made an utmost promise to the Buccaneers, having joined the side from the now-defunct All Stars.

Baloni, who plays a midfielder, was very instrumental for All Stars in the Motsepe Foundation Championship last season as he featured in 25 games and contributed three goals in the process.

However, in a turn of events, All Stars decided to sell their second-tier status to Black Leopards

This comes after Lidoda Duvha finished bottom of the log standings last campaign and were subsequently relegated to the SAFA ABC Motsepe League.

In an interview with the club’s official site, Baloni vowed to bring stability and help the team to reach the promised land in the upcoming season.

“I must continue doing what got me recognised in the first place,” said the who grew up in Sasolburg, Free State.

“As I said to you earlier, I am a goal-driven individual who believes in hard work.

“That’s all I can do, and this is what I promise to continue delivering. If I do that, all should fall in place.”

WHAT MAKES BALONI UNIQUE AS A MIDFIELDER

Baloni went on to reveal what makes him stand out from other midfielders in the field of play.

“When you are a player, and you know what you want, your mindset is bound to be different from that of other players. Everything that you do on the field will be different, and the people watching will notice,” he explained.

“Nowadays, there are many talented players, but unfortunately, talent alone is not enough. One has to do more. I know what my roles are as a midfielder, but I do not end there, I stretch myself.

“Even my former coach told me that he did not give me the responsibility of being a vice-captain without reason. He gave it to me because of my strong personality.”

The 23-year-old footballer continued: “He told me that my personality is not the same as that of other people. Even when I am on the bench, I am not envious of other players.

“I encourage those who are playing because I understand my role as a team-mate that it’s not only about me and my needs but more about the team objectives. I think these are some of the things that make me different.”
