Ntseki opens up on Bimenyimana’s situation at Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs coach Molefi Ntseki has opened up about striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana’s situation at the club.

A few weeks ago, this publication learnt that Bimenyimana was edging closer for an exit at Chiefs after an interest from Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca.

Unfortunately, it seems like things didn’t workout as planned for the Burundi striker in Morocco. He’s now back at Naturena continuing with the pre-season preparations.

The 25-year-old was present at the club’s new kit launch on Tuesday 25 July together with the rest of the team.

On his debut season, Bimenyimana started like a house on fire for Amakhosi. He scored six goal in six matches. As the season progressed his form dropped. This was mainly due to injury setbacks and the arrival of Christian Saile Basomboli in January 2023.

In the second half of the season he failed to score a single goal. All-in-all, he managed to find the back of the net eight times in 21 appearances in all competitions and provided an assist.

He will be competing for a place in the starting line-up with the duo of newly signed Ranga Chivaviro from Marumo Gallants and Saile.

“Caleb [Bimenyimana] is with us now, we were just training today, he’s with us,” said Ntseki.

“We are wishing him all the best of luck as a Kaizer Chiefs player. Hopefully he will turn the things around this season.”

Caleb is expected to be in action when Chiefs play their final pre-season match against Botswana Premier League outfit Township Rollers before the start of 2023/24 PSL season.

The friendly match will take place on Saturday 29 July. Kickoff at National Stadium is at 3pm.
