Polokwane City boss makes bold Motsepe Foundation prediction

Chairman of newly promoted side Polokwane City, Johnny Mogaladi, has made a bold prediction on who will follow them to the DStv Premiership.

Rise and Shine secured a return to PSL top-flight football after a tightly contested Motsepe Foundation Championship season. They previously spent eight seasons in the Premiership before being demoted to the first division in 2020.

JOHNNY MOGALADI PROMOTION PREDICTION

Mogaladi has now made a bold prediction on the teams that he thinks will follow them. He was speaking at an event organised by the Limpopo government this week.

“I am saying that the next team that is going to be promoted from the Motsepe Foundation Championship and the two teams that will go to the playoffs will be from this province, believe me,” he said.

“We don’t need to go and look for a Sangoma, we have our own Sangoma here in the province. So the team that will be promoted will be from this province. That I know is because if we work together, there is no way that we will fail.”

POLOKWANE CITY TO PLAY BIG BROTHER ROLE TO MFC TEAMS

“We are going to work together with local clubs from the NFD [Motsepe Foundation Championship] in the province to make sure that we help each other. In order to keep this province happy and make sure that we work as a team and make sure that there is another team [in the DStv Premiership],” added Mogaladi.

Meanwhile, the MEC for LEDET in Limpopo Rodgers Monama has confirmed that the government will continue to support Premiership clubs.

The Government, through the Limpopo Tourism Agency, allocates a million rand each per season to local clubs in the Premiership.

Polokwane City and Sekhukhune United will be the two beneficiaries this season after the relegation of Marumo Gallants. Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United, who will play some games in Polokwane, are not accounted for.
