Kaizer Chiefs starlet Mduduzi Shabalala has revealed what his second PSL season at the club will be all about.

Last season, Shabalala had a great spell with the Soweto giants, having established his place in the starting line-up under coach Arthur Zwane.

All-in-all, he ended up playing 23 matches in all competitions. He was directly involved in four goals. The 19-year-old scored two and provided two assists.

According to Shabalala, he’s now used to the league. Therefore, this season is all about showcasing his talent and what he’s capable of doing in the field of play.

“It’s a new season. I’m no longer a ‘young player’, I played quite a lot of games last season,” Shabalala told the club’s media department.

MDUDUZI SHABALALA SAYS KAIZER CHIEFS HAVE IMPROVED A LOT

Shabalala further stated that there is a lot of improvement in the team. Amakhosi got a new coach Molefi Ntseki.

To add, the Glamour Boys bolstered their squad, bringing in new players like Given Msimango, Mduduzi Mdantsane and Edson Castillo.

“There’s a lot of improvement in the team, but, of course, what is important is getting results, which we haven’t done as well as we would have liked.

“They [people] have been saying a lot of things about us. We just want to go out there and express ourselves with positive energy and willingness to fight for the team.

“We are looking forward to putting that right against Chippa and getting three points. So far, so good, we’ve been doing very well in training, and we are feeling positive,” he added.

Amakhosi’s first test of the season will be a home tie against Chippa United at the Moses Mabhida Stadium. Kickoff on Sunday 6 August is at 3 pm.
