Tumisang Orebonye weighs in on Ditlhokwe’s move to Chiefs
USM Alger forward Tumisang Orebonye has weighed in on Thatayaone ‘TT’ Ditlhokwe to Kaizer Chiefs ahead of the new season.
The Botswana international, Ditlhokwe, joined the Soweto giants from SuperSport United. His deal with Amakhosi will see him stay at the club until June 2027.
The 24-year-old centre-back will don jersey 24 at Chiefs.
His fellow countryman, Orebonye, was full of praises when he was quizzed about Ditlhokwe’s move to the Glamour Boys.
Orebonye reckons that the talented defender has got all it takes to fit into the Amakhosi’s set-up, as the new season looms large.
TUMISANG OREBONYE ON THATAYAONE DITLHOKWE’S MOVE TO KAIZER CHIEFS
“I’m so happy for that man. He’s so disciplined and determined, Orebonye told FARPost.
“For him to move to Kaizer Chiefs, I think it was the right time for him to move to a new environment.
“Also, to play for a team where there’s pressure, because sometimes when you play where is your comfort zone, you can’t see your growth in football.
“So, if you are playing for teams like Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns, they always want results. ‘TT’ is a winner and needs that kind of competition.”
Orebonye continued: “He’s a very perfect fit for Chiefs. Now, Chiefs are struggling at the back, so, for him, I think he will fit in very well.”
Ditlhokwe will be expected to add the much-needed experience to Chiefs’ defence and guide the side to the promised land.
With Chiefs having not won a silverware in eight years, the club will be aiming to challenge for major trophies when the new term roars to life.
Amakhosi will commence the new campaign against Chippa United on Sunday, 6 August 2023.
The showdown will take place at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, with the kick-off scheduled for 15:00.
