Ntseki speaks on Du Preez’s big heart and desire to score

Kaizer Chiefs gaffer Molefi Ntseki is convinced Ashley Du Preez will rise above waters this season, saying his big heart and hunger to score will distinguish him from the rest.

This comes after Du Preez put in a great performance as Chiefs beat Cape Town City FC 2-1 in an MTN8 quarter-final encounter on Sunday afternoon in Cape Town.

Du Preez scored one of the goals against CT City to continue from where he left off last season after joining Amakhosi from Stellenbosch FC in 2022.

In 32 matches in all competitions in his first season at Chiefs, he managed to find the back of the net nine times. To add, he provided five assists.

This season, the 26-year-old has started on a bright note. In the last two matches, he has scored two goals.

MOLEFI NTSEKI ON ASHLEY DU PREEZ

The mentor believes the best of Du Preez is yet to come once he fully recovers and becomes 100 per cent fit.

“I think he’s not yet at his 80 per cent. Because he got injured on our last game against Cape Town City,” said Ntseki.

“He didn’t have a full pre-season with us. That’s why I’m saying he has a big heart. He believes so much in himself. And we believe in him. If we talking about him 70-80 per cent, just think of Ash being 100 per cent.

MOLEFI NTSEKI’S BOLD CLAIM ON ASHLEY DU PREEZ

Ntseki further made a bold claim on Du Preez, saying he’s the club’s best signing.

“I think he was the best acquisition we brought to the club because we were fully aware of his qualities. He’s paying back by scoring goals for the club.”

The Stellenbosch-born striker is expected to be in action when the Glamour Boys travel to face TS Galaxy in a league encounter on Sunday, 20 August. Kickoff at Mbombela Stadium is set for 15:00.
