What Ntseki thinks of Castillo’s MTN8 display against CT City

Kaizer Chiefs coach Molefi Ntseki has reacted to the impressive performance of midfielder Edson Castillo during the club’s MTN8 win against Cape Town City on Sunday at Athlone Stadium

The Venezuela player powered Amakhosi to the semifinals of the competition with a winning goal in the 2-1 victory over the Citizens. It was also Ntseki’s first win as Chiefs coach.

Chiefs will now meet rivals Mamelodi Sundowns in the semifinals of the MTN8 on a date yet to be confirmed by the PSL.

It was Castillo’s first goal for Chiefs since his signing during the current transfer window and in his third official match for the club. There has been some positive feedback from the public over the 29-year-old’s performance since his arrival at the PSL giants.

KAIZER CHIEFS COACH MOLEFI NTSEKI LEFT IMPRESSED

However, Ntseki believes there are still some aspects of the game that Castillo still needs to adjust to.

“We had scouts going to Venezuela to watch him play, and we saw a player that we need in the club. We needed someone with authority and confidence on the ball. Somebody with a little bit of intelligence, and I think he is bringing that to the team,” said Ntseki.

WHAT EDSON CASTILLO CAN STILL IMPROVE ON HIS PERFORMANCE

“By the way, it’s only his third game in South Africa, and there is still more to come out of him because he appears to be a very intelligent midfielder.

“So, in terms of the pace, he still needs to adjust to the weather conditions in South Africa. Also, the understanding of the type of opponent we play against.

“The type of players that we always play around him as well. In terms of the tactical cohesion and understanding, we still have a long way to go to be a solid team tactically,” added Ntseki.

The victory on Sunday was also the first for Ntseki as the head coach at Kaizer Chiefs.
