Winless runs continue for AmaZulu FC and Richards Bay FC

Winless runs continued for AmaZulu FC and Richards Bay FC after they drew 0-0 in the DStv Premiership at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday evening.

Natal Rich Boyz came to the match with zero points in the pocket, having suffered defeats in their first two games of the season.

Meanwhile, Usuthu drew their previous two matches against Royal AM and SuperSport United.

The action began with the hosts on the charge, and they had a lion’s share in ball possession.

They made a few box entries but still couldn’t make the breakthrough. With Richards Bay trying to find themselves in the game, much of the action was a physical battle with a lot of fouls falling in the visitors’ way.

Throughout that period, there was a distinct lack of chances for either side.

In the 37th minute, Somila Ntsundwana had a chance to put his side in front when he was identified by Thabani Mthembu. The striker sent the ball wide.

AmaZulu spent most of the last five minutes of the first stanza in the attacking zone. However, Richards Bay was astute at the back until the referee blew for the break.

BOTH SIDES RETURNED FROM HALFTIME WITH MOMENTUM

The second half saw both sides returning with some momentum, looking for the opener.

AmaZulu came close to tapping the net when Riaan Hanamub whipped in a cross, however, Austin Dube cleared the lines to keep the score 0-0.

After the away side made offensive changes, introducing the likes of Justice Figareido, they kept on threatening Usuthu’s box a couple of times.

The match went on to end with a 0-0 stalemate
