Manuel Kambala resurfaces at DStv Premiership side

Mozambique international Manuel Kambala has resurfaced at a DStv Premiership club as he looks to kickstart his career in SA’s topflight.

Kambala recently parted ways with Motsepe Foundation Championship side Magesi FC after spending one season.

This is after he was part of the Baroka side that got demoted from the PSL elite league the previous season.

The 31-year-old started training with Premiership returnees Polokwane City two weeks ago. Co-coach Lehlohonolo Seema confirmed that the midfielder was training with the club but declined to divulge if he had been signed or not.

“He is still training with the team. So up until further notice, he is still training with the team,” said Seema.

“He is there. I can confirm that he is training with the team.”

Rise and Shine has started the season on a good note, collecting six out of a possible nine points. They are currently fourth in the DStv Premiership log behind TS Galaxy, SuperSport United and Mamelodi Sundowns.

SEEMA LAUDS POLOKWANE CITY PLAYERS AFTER A DECENT START

Seema has described the current crop of players as hard workers and coachable.

“Credit must, first of all, go to the chairman [Johnny Mogaladi] for believing in these young and unknown players. The way they are fighting and taking instructions. They are very coachable and are working very hard, and I believe it did not start this season. That is why they got promoted, this is a reward for hard work.”

With the club having collected maximum points at home this season, Seema has also emphasized the importance of making Peter Mokaba an uncomfortable ground for many.

“It’s important to get points at home in front of your supporters because playing away is never easy. I don’t know if we should call it a slaughterhouse at the moment; it’s too early.
