Kaizer Chiefs calls on supporters to ‘trust the process’

Kaizer Chiefs communications manager Vina Maphosa has called on the club’s supporters to rally behind the team and ‘trust the process’ amid calls for head coach Molefi Ntseki to be fired.

Chiefs suffered a disappointing 1-0 defeat to TS Galaxy in the DStv Premiership on Sunday at Mbombela Stadium.

The Soweto giants are yet to taste a victory in the new season in the league. They suffered two losses and drew one game in their opening three league matches.

Kaizer Chiefs began the new season with a goalless draw against Chippa United before suffering two back-to-back losses against Mamelodi Sundowns and TS Galaxy.

The loss to Galaxy was met with a lot of criticism. Furious Chiefs supporters threw objects at the club’s technical team including Molefi Ntseki.

This is not the first time that Chiefs’ technical team has been escorted to the tunnel by the police after Arthur Zwane suffered the same attack last season.

Meanwhile, Ntseki, who only took over the coaching reigns at Amakhosi at the start of the season, is already under pressure with fans calling for his sacking.

However, Vina Maphosa has pleaded with the supporters to give the coach time to turn the corner.

“The coach [Ntseki] is fine, he has taken what happened in Mbombela in his stride. It comes with territory,” Maphosa said on Radio 2000.

“We are trying our best to return the club to its former glory days. But at the same time, we can’t promote violence at the stadiums. We are still about Love and Peace.

“So we just asking our fans to trust the process. We will turn the corner soon, happiness will come soon.

“The club is managed well. The people who are in charge have played the game. They know what they are doing.

“There are internal processes that are looking into what’s happening at the club. The technical team is working hard to fix this.”
