Teams promoted to ABC Motsepe League

As the new season, ABC Motsepe League season is upon us, 18 teams have secured promotions to the SA football third tier.

SAFA would be proud that all the nine provinces have completed their SAB Inter-Regional Playoffs, despite some few challenges [pending cases].

Each province has two teams promoted to their respective ABC Motsepe League.

All the 18 promoted teams will be gunning to fight for a promotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship in the upcoming new season.

But for the clubs to get promoted to the National First Division, they will have to battle out for the title honours in their respective provinces and qualify for national playoffs.

In the past years, the ABC Motsepe League has produced a fascinating set of showdowns across the country, and that’s what we are anticipating this season.

The amateur league has also helped in unleashing raw talents for some top-flight teams in recent years.

Some of the players went on to become best players. Cassius Mailula is one good example.

Mailula used to play for M Tigers in the Gauteng ABC League. M Tigers are the Mamelodi Sundowns feeder team.

Now, the Limpopo-born star has secured a move to a North American club, Toronto FC, competing in Major League Soccer [MLS].

To add to that, goals, drama, and fans’ abundant roars and rumbles from the stands are what the SA football third-tier has also delivered over the weekend

As far as the new season is concerned, each province will announce the date for the commencement of the new campaign.
