Sead Ramovic identifies TS Galaxy’s ‘weakness’

TS Galaxy head coach Sead Ramovic has identified a “weakness” that let them down in their past two games of the DStv Premiership.

The Rockets have collected two wins, suffered two defeats and played one draw. They currently sit eighth on the log standings, having amassed just seven points.

Two weeks ago, they were on everyone’s lips after a masterclass display against Kaizer Chiefs, winning 1-0 in front of their home crowd at the Mbombela Stadium.

Thereafter, they surprisingly lost to Royal AM [1-0] and AmaZulu FC [1-0] in their KZN trip last week. Ramovic was happy with their showing during their battle with Thwihli Thwahla but disappointed with their performance against Usuthu.

The German coach says he’s satisfied with how they create the opportunities but concerned that they can’t bury them. He feels this is their weakness, having failed to convert in both previous games.

He believes it would take reinforcements in the striking department to find a solution, as the transfer window is still open.

“We know that we have to find an offensive player, striker, wingers because, yes, there are players that we have now; they came from NFD, and they need time to improve,” said Ramovic.

“But until now, they have played into the maximum, but they still need time to improve in structure, tactically, and finishing.

“So, this is where we have to work. But we have to find one or two more players for the offensive part. This is probably if you watch our past five games. This is actually our weakness.

“We create a lot of opportunities, but we don’t score, so now we have to work with the players that we have to improve and make it better upfront.

“In training, yes, they score, but in the game, there’s pressure. We have to work on the mental side, and if we can find a good striker or good offensive guys, it will be great. If not, we just want to add quality, not quantity.”
