Sello Chokoe makes a return to football coaching

Former Baroka FC and Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila coach Sello Chokoe has made a return to football coaching.

Chokoe, also known as the glove coach, was last attached to a professional set-up at TTM in 2020 but left after allegations of fraud by club boss Masala Mulaudzi.

The club never gave an update on the case, and Chokoe made a return to Limpopo SAFA ABC Motsepe League side Ablex United in 2021. Since then, the coach has not been attached to any club.

But news reaching FARPost is that Chokoe has been appointed coach at Limpopo club Emmanuel FC.

SELLO CHOKOE RETURNS TO COACHING

Hlayisani Hlayisani has also confirmed to this publication that they have roped in Chokoe. “We have hired coach Sello Chokoe because we wanted someone with experience at a high level,” he said.

“We are happy with the progress. He is busy with trials, so we are just finalizing the names of the players he chose.”

Former Black Leopards players Wiseman Maluleke and Ntlakuso Promise Rikhotso have also been training with the side. Maluleke revealed that there were intentions to bring the pair into the club.

“There is a high possibility they are from our home place un Giyani. So we are just finishing the arrangement, so I believe by Monday, we should be announcing the new players.”

LACK OF PSL FOOTBALL IN GIYANI IS A HUGE CONCERN

Besides Motsepe Foundation Championship side Casric Stars taking some of their games to Giyabni this season., the area has not watched professional football for a long time. The last time they had a team taking the games to the area was with Jomo Cosmos four seasons ago.

Giyani was home to now-defunct Dynamos, which was owned by well-known boss Pat Malabela.

“We want to emulate Dynamos. It really doesn’t paint a good picture because when Dynamos was playing in the PSL, the economy of Giyani was booming,” he said.

“A lot of people make a lot of money at that time, so it’s not just the love of football, but you need to love your community first so that you can find so many reasons to give to your people.

“This is about nurturing talent and exposing talent in Giyani and also trying to get to a point where we can play a major role in empowering our people.”
