Moseamedi’s Tunisia saga leaves Makaab scratching his head

Judas Moseamedi’s saga with Tunisian club El Gawafel Sportives de Gasfa has left his agent, Mike Makaab, scratching his head.

Moseamedi completed a switch to Tunisia in the off-season on a free transfer after parting ways with Marumo Gallants.

The bulky forward parted company with Marumo Gallants, who were relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship last season. He joined Bahlabane Ba Ntwa during the 2023 January transfer window.

Moseamedi made seven appearances for Gallants in his short stint and scored two goals. He provided one assist.

A few days ago, Idiski Times reported that Moseamedi is leaving Gasfa despite joining the club two months ago.

The circumstances leading to the abrupt exit were, however, not revealed.

MIKE MAKAAB IN THE DARK OVER JUDAS MOSEAMEDI’S TUNISIA SAGA

Makaab, who represents Moseamedi, has told FARPost in an interview that he was in the dark when the striker sealed the move.

“I’m gonna be honest with you, I didn’t know anything about Judas Moseamedi moving to Tunisia,” Makaab said.

“So I spoke to Moseamedi about getting him a team in the DStv Premiership before the current season started.

“The plan was to put him at a team where he will have a pre-season with the PSL club to have a good season. That conversation went well until I heard he joined a Tunisia team. It took me by surprise, especially because I represent him.

“So, everything that’s happening with Judas Moseamedi at the moment, I don’t know anything because he did things on his own.”

It remains to be seen what will be the next move for the well-travelled striker.

Amongst many teams he played for in his career are Mpumalanga Black Aces, Cape Town City, Free State Stars, Maritzburg United, Stellenbosch and Marumo Gallants.
