Polokwane City players survive accident scare

DStv Premiership side Polokwane City players survived an accident scare on Monday, 11 September 2023.

This is not the first time the PLK City bus has been involved in an accident. The PSL club has been involved in an accident on three occasions in separate years [2012, 2015, and 2023].

The first time the club’s bus was involved in an accident was back in November 2012. This incident saw four PLK City players lose their lives.

The four are Koketso Takalo, Robert Mphuti, Moeketsi Nthete, and Silvester Mpaketsane who died in the accident.

A bakkie hit the side’s minibus and caused it to collide with a bus in oncoming traffic at the R71 in Limpopo.

THE POLOKWANE CITY SECOND ACCIDENT

The second accident happened in August 2015. The club’s players were not injured when their team bus was involved in a minor accident at the corner of Thabo Mbeki and Voortreker Streets.

This incident happened after their PSL game against the now-defunct Bloemfontein Celtic at the old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
