What the Pirates, Jwaneng Galaxy clash means to a Zimbabwean winger
Jwaneng Galaxy forward Daniel Msendami is excited to face the high-flying Orlando Pirates and has revealed why the opportunity to play the Soweto giants is a blessing to him.
The ambitious, Jwaneng Galaxy will host the Buccaneers in the first leg of the CAF Champions League second preliminary round on Sunday.
Galaxy, the Botswana Premier League reigning champions reached this stage after eliminating Vipers SC of Uganda.
And they are brimming with confidence that they will write a new piece of club history, by eliminating the mighty Pirates.
What makes this tie exciting is the fact that Jwaneng Galaxy are led by coach Morena Ramoreboli, who is a South African native. This match, however, holds so much more importance to Zimbabwean winger Daniel Msendami who is in the books of Jwaneng Galaxy.
WHY THE MATCH IS IMPORTANT TO MSENDAMI
Having previously been linked with DStv Premiership teams, the 22-year-old Msendami believes impressing against Pirates can be a stepping stone to uplift his football career.
“It’s very motivating and it’s a game that I had been waiting for. For me, it’s a very good platform for me to showcase my talent,” Msendami told FARPost.
“I will approach this game with hunger because a game like this one can change my life for the better.
“It’s a very good match and exactly the games, I love to play because you can even rate yourself after such games.”
WHAT MORENA RAMOREBOLI HAS BEEN TELLING HIS TEAM
The forward, Daniel Msendami revealed what Morena Ramoreboli has been telling his players ahead of the clash.
“He is always motivating us, he has been doing wonders as a coach so he has managed to put hunger in every one of us. And he always tells us that the ones who need it the most will get it. So we are good and ready to go,” he added.
Meanwhile, Pirates who beat Djabal Club of Comoros to reach this stage will hope to make light work of Jwaneng Galaxy. The Soweto giants have been riding high in the DStv Premiership.
