Sundowns’ new signing that has impressed Matthew Booth
Former Mamelodi Sundowns defender Matthew Booth has picked the club’s new signing that has impressed him so far this season.
Sundowns bolstered their squad with only five additions ahead of the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season.
These are namely; Thapelo Maseko, Lucas Ribeiro, Lesiba Nku, Junior Mendieta and Bathusi Aubaas.
All the new faces have been given an opportunity to play this campaign for their new team and have shown some glimpses of what they will be bringing on board.
MATTHEW BOOTH NAMES LESIBA NKU AS THE NEW SIGNING THAT HAS STOOD OUT FOR HIM
The retired centre-back named Lesiba Nku as the club’s latest acquisition that has performed so well for him, not leaving out Lucas Ribeiro who has also been exceptional as well for the Tshwane giants.
“Certainly Ribeiro and Nku have been very impressive, Mandieta hasn’t had much game time for me to have an opinion. Sundowns have started to play a little bit wider with Nku and he offers that width,” Booth told FARPost.
“I think his ability to take on fullback [position], he’s not afraid to put his head down and run to the fullback.
“I think that’s something that gives Sundowns something different. He deserves the move because I watched him play at Marumo Gallants last season. He was very impressive.”
HOW LESIBA NKU HAS PERFORMED FOR MAMELODI SUNDOWNS
So far for Masandawana, the 27-year-old has made six appearances in all competitions playing either as a right winger or centre-forward.
Probably, his best performance in Sundowns colours was in his first start against Golden Arrows in the league. On the day, Nku scored a brace as Bafana Ba Style cruised to a 4-0 victory.
