‘They will play for life and death,’ Martin on Cape Town City clash
AmaZulu FC head coach Pablo Franco Martin has explained why he feels Cape Town City will pull out all the stops to come victorious when the two sides lock horns.
The KwaZulu-Natal-based club will host the Citizens in a DStv premiership encounter on Sunday at Moses Mabhida at 5:30 pm.
The two teams, which are equal on points are vying for maximum points.
The wounded Citizens are coming into the game looking for a victory, following a streak of four defeats in all competitions.
Cape Town City lost their previous three DStv premiership games, in which they also failed to score. In addition, they also suffered a loss in the MTN8.
WHY PABLO FRANCO MARTIN THINKS CAPE TOWN CITY WILL PLAY FOR THEIR LIFE
“It’s not going to be an easy game. They are going to play for life or death. For me, they one of the best teams in this league. Maybe they were unlucky in their last games but they always played well and performing well,” Franco Martin said.
“From our point of view, the same as I say, we need to be ambitious and we also need to respect the opponent in a good way knowing that they are working and have good players.”
The Spanish tactician says they know City’s weaknesses and will be looking to exploit them.
MARTIN’S SIDE LOOKING TO EXPLOIT CITY’S WEAKNESSES
“We are 100% focused on the game. From there, of course, we had time to watch all their games, to study them,” he added.
“We know also their weaknesses and we are working on that and taking our time to try to avoid them and to also play the style of our game and that they are in a situation that they [Cape Town City] are very well.
“However, the game plan is in our field and we are working on that and the most important thing is that we understand the importance of this, not only on the next game but the upcoming games because from there, I think is going to tell us where we can be at the end of the season.
“Right now, we are in that position in terms of classification but what we need to do is to get us as many points in the upcoming games”.
