Mamelodi Sundowns defender looks set for a loan switch to Chippa United with just a few days remaining before the PSL transfer deadline day.
The Chilli Boys have been one of the busiest sides in the market in an attempt to build a formidable team for Morgan Mammila who’s in the driving seat.
Having also fought relegation in the previous season, the Gqeberha-based club is aware of how crucial the squad depth will be as the league’s competitiveness grows.
According to FARPost sources, Chippa United could reach an agreement with the Brazilians over the left-back Malebogo Modise. They’re hoping to get the deal completed before the window shuts on Friday, 22 September.
MALEBOGO MODISE POISED FOR FOURTH TIME LOAN TRANSFER
Should the two clubs agree on the deal, it would be a fourth loan move for the Bafana Ba Style academy product.
The 24-year-old versatile left-footer was promoted to the first team in 2020 during Pitso Mosimane’s tenure. In the same season, he was sent on loan to Maritzburg United having not featured for the Tshwane giants.
In 2021, Modise, who can also play as a left-winger, joined JDR Stars in the Motsepe Foundation Championship. Lastly, he spent the previous campaign with the now-defunct All-Stars in the second-tier.
The former SA youth international returned to Chloorkop during the off-season. And his future has been uncertain taking into account the stiff competition in his position. He’s competing with the likes of Aubrey Modiba, Divine Lunga, Terrence Mashego and Sfiso Ngobeni.
SUNDOWNS PLAYERS ON LOAN
Meanwhile, Sundowns have a number of players who are already out on loan. Nicholus Lukhubeni, Siyanda Msani and Luvuyo Phewa will spend the season with Cape Town Spurs.
Etiosa Ighodaro and Ricardo Goss are at SuperSport United while Thabang Sibanyoni and Promise Mkhuma are turning out for AmaTuks this season. Thabiso Kutumela and Ismail Watenga recently joined Cape Town City and Golden Arrows respectively.
