‘I have been there’: – Gavin Hunt sympathises with Ntseki
SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt has spoken out on the unfortunate incident experienced by his Kaizer Chiefs counterpart Molefi Ntseki on Wednesday night.
SuperSport secured a 1-0 victory over their DStv Premiership rivals at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
The result prompted a violent reaction from the Amakhosi faithful, who threw objects at head coach Molefi Ntseki. Football manager at Chiefs club Bobby Motaung also had to calm the angry supporters who couldn’t hide their frustrations.
WHY HUNT SYMPATHISES WITH NTSEKI OVER UNFORTUNATE INCIDENT
Hunt was asked what he made of the situation at his former club and this is what he had to say: “I have been there, been there, I have been there at Swallows.
“[Hiding] in the boot of a car, I have been there. So I understand, it’s not for me to really comment.
“It’s not the right way to end things. We need to be more understanding of situations and maybe they win on Saturday [against Sundowns], then what happens? asked Hunt.

“So you never know in football. But we can handle these things in other ways and it’s just, yah it’s sad, it’s very sad,” said Hunt who had a six-month stint at the Soweto giants between September 2020 and May 2021.
Meanwhile, Hunt admitted that they spent most of the time under pressure and they had to grind the much-needed results.
“Obviously we were under a lot of pressure but I thought we handled it well. Sure they had a lot of balls across the face of my goal but I thought we stood our ground at times and we defended well,” he added.
“But that’s what football is about, you grind away the results sometimes. We are obviously missing a few players so yeah we had to do what we had to do.”
