Molefi Ntseki reacts to crowd trouble after SuperSport loss
Kaizer Chiefs coach Molefi Ntseki has reacted to the frustration shown by the club’s fans who once again threw missiles at him at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday night.
Ntseki had to be escorted by the police after the 1-0 loss to SuperSport United in a DStv Premiership clash in Polokwane.
Despite the defeat, Chiefs were impressive on the night but missed chances that could have produced a different outcome.
It is the second time this season that Ntseki had to be whisked away. A similar incident occurred when Amakhosi lost to TS Galaxy in Mbombela last month.
ANGRY KAIZER CHIEFS FANS SHOW THEIR FRUSTRATIONS
“I think they [supporters] are disappointed because they are looking at the performances of the team. The expectation for us is to win games,” said Ntseki.
“If you don’t win games like this and the one we played last week [against Royal AM], obviously the supporters are disappointed. As much as they are disappointed I think we have a good team and a good game.
“The players are performing to the best of their abilities and I think the plan worked out against SuperSport. It’s just that we conceded very early,” said Ntseki.
But what was disappointing was that journalists were instructed to refrain from asking questions about the incident by media officers from both teams Vina Maphosa and Brian Moshoeshoe and ask only about the match.
WHAT PLEASED MOLEFI NTSEKI DESPITE THE DEFEAT
“We came here into this game, not having conceded. The last time we conceded was when we played in the MTN8 and very late in the game,” said Ntseki about their ability to defend.
“Last week we did not concede. The game before that we did not concede against AmaZulu. The game before that we did not concede against Stellenbosch. So I think the defence has been doing very well. It was just a mistake in the critical face of the game for us to concede today.”
Chiefs will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Lucas Moripe Stadium for the MTN8 semifinal against Mamelodi Sundowns.
