Black Leopards’ struggles continue while Orbit College soars
Black Leopards prolonged their Motsepe Foundation Championship winless streak, while Orbit College extended their unbeaten run to four matches.
Leopards suffered their third loss of the season after losing 2-0 to Magesi FC in the Limpopo derby at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.
Lidoda Duvha lost three of their opening four games in the Championship while drawing one match. Leopards lie 15th on the log after accumulating only one point so far.
Elsewhere, Orbit College maintained their unbeaten run in the second-tier league after defeating Upington City 3-2 at Dobsonville Stadium on Saturday.
The North West-based outfit has had an impressive start to life in its maiden season in the NFD.
ORBIT COLLEGE MAINTAIN WINNING RUN
Orbit College won all their opening four league games and accumulated 12 points to go top of the table.
Meanwhile, Marumo Gallants claimed their first win of the season since getting relegated from the DStv Premiership last season.
Gallants’ first win of the season came at the expense of NFD newbies Milford FC after beating them 1-0 at Isak Steyl Stadium on Saturday.
The Limpopo-based side lost three of their opening league games before registering its first win of the campaign against Milford.
Maritzburg United played to a lethargic, goalless draw against Baroka FC at Global Stadium on Sunday.
The Team of Choice dropped points to miss an opportunity to close the gap on run-away leaders Orbit College.
Meanwhile, Baroka failed to register their first win of the campaign after drawing two games while losing two after four matches played.
