Ahead of the much-awaited MTN8 final showdown set for the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban next Saturday [7 October 2023], the PSL has confirmed kick-off time and ticketing information.
Orlando Pirates face off with Mamelodi Sundowns in the final of this year’s MTN8 Cup.
Pirates recently progressed to the final, courtesy of the away goals rule, after playing a 2-2 aggregate draw with Stellenbosch FC.
The Buccaneers had fought back to win the first leg 2-1 in Cape Town before slipping to a 1-0 defeat at home on Sunday.
On the other hand, Mamelodi Sundowns won the two-legged tie 3-2 after a 1-1 draw with Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium in the first leg. They won the return leg 2-1.
WHAT TIME IS THE MTN8 FINAL
In a statement, PSL said gates on the 7th of October would open at 2pm ahead of a 6pm kick-off.
“As the Moses Mabhida Stadium gets ready to host the 2023/24 MTN8 final, the Premier Soccer League (PSL) has confirmed the kick-off time and ticketing information for the October 7th showdown.
“The MTN8 final, which will be contested by Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns, is scheduled to kick-off at 18h00. Gates will open at 14h00,” read the statement.
Tickets are now available today at Ticketpro outlets countrywide at R100 per ticket.

Pirates will be looking to retain the title they won last year, which was Coach Jose Riveiro’s first piece of silverware in South Africa.
Sundowns won it the previous year and would be eager to win it again, consolidating on an excellent start to the season.
Masandawana have played 12 games in all competitions this season, winning 11 and playing one draw.
In the league, they have gone a record 32 games unbeaten, stretching from last season. They made it eight out of eight when they beat Stellies 3-1 in a midweek DStv Premiership encounter.
Pirates, on the other hand, have lost the last three games, including a 1-0 defeat to Sundowns.
It certainly promises to be an exciting final between the two giants.
