‘He fitted like a hand in a glove’: Ex-Chiefs defender on Msimango
A former Kaizer Chiefs defender has shared his thoughts on Amakhosi’s recruit Given Msimango, stating that: ‘he fitted like a hand in a glove’ at the club.
Msimango joined the Soweto giants in this transfer window period from Mpumalanga-based outfit, TS Galaxy. The 26-year-old defender penned a four-year deal with the Molefi Ntseki-coached side.
So far, the talented centre-back has featured in 11 games across all competitions for Chiefs this season.
FORMER KAIZER CHIEFS DEFENDER ON GIVEN MSIMANGO
In an interview with FARPost, Tefu Mashamaite weighed in on why Msimango is Chiefs’ material and how he quickly settled into the Glamour Boys’ set-up.
Mashamaite believes that Msimango is a great defender of modern football.
“You know, his form, I feel like he just went into Chiefs and he fitted like a hand in a glove,” Mashamaite told this publication.
“He looks so comfortable like he’s been playing for Chiefs for a long time. He doesn’t look to be under any kind of pressure and that’s the kind of material Chiefs need right now.
“And the fact that he was also part of the recent Bafana Bafana preliminary squad it’s a reward for his hard work. I hope it goes a long way into building his confidence.”
GIVEN MSIMANGO HAS GOT WHAT IT TAKES
The former Bidvest Wits and SuperSport defender went on to say Msimango is a player who has the potential to lead Chiefs to the promised land. He believes that the player has got what it takes to be labeled as a complete player.
“I think he’s a player who’s growing in stature. He’s one player who has got what it takes to be a good defender. Let’s hope he also cultivates that into winning trophies for Kaizer Chiefs,” he added.
Msimango’s experience is evident in the stellar performances he has put in from the appearances he has made for Chiefs.
