Another coach in the Motsepe Foundation bites the dust

Things are starting to get tense in the Motsepe Foundation Championship as a fourth coach has now quit his job.

FARPost has reliably been informed that coach Joel Masutha resigned from his job on Wednesday evening.

As this publication has earlier reported, the future of Masutha at the club was becoming uncertain after the arrival of Johnny Ferreira as a technical advisor.

Masutha had been previously linked with a move to Baroka FC but the club has since appointed Dan Malesela for that role at the PSL side.

Venda FC are now third from bottom following their third defeat of the season on Wednesday against Maritzburg United. They lost the match 5-1.

Masutha follows Stanford Nkoane [Baroka FC], Alejandro Dorado [Black Leopards], and Asanda Mvalo [Milford FC] who have all parted with their respective clubs.

It’s unclear if Ferreira will officially take over from now on with the rest of the technical staff. The 66-year-old is in his second stint at the Limpopo club. He was in charge during their first season in the professional ranks but left at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Magesi FC continues with their impressive start to the season and remains top of the log. They have collected 14 points and are followed by newcomers Orbit College with 13 points after six matches.

Maritzburg United and Hungry Lions are both tied at 11 points while Marumo Gallants, University of Pretoria, and JDR Stars all have nine points.

The bottom three is currently occupied by Milford, who collected their first point against Magesi on Tuesday, as well as Baroka and VFA. Black Leopards who have won their last two matches have now jumped to 10th on the log.
