Baroka boss compares Dan Malesela to Pitso and Rulani

Baroka FC Boss Khurishi Mphahlele believes his new coach Dan Malesela is on the same level as Pitso Mosimane and Rulani Mokwena, but even better in one aspect.

Malesela was unveiled as head coach of the Motsepe Foundation Championship side on Monday to take over from Stanford Nkoane.

The well-traveled coach began his tenure at Baroka in the 1-1 draw against Upington City at the Global Village on Wednesday.

During his unveiling in Lebowakgomo, Limpopo on Monday, Mphahlele spoke about how Malesela is on the same level as Mosimane and the current Mamelodi Sundowns mentor, Mokwena.

But Mphahlele believes Malesela is tops when it comes to the type of football he plays compared to the two.

NEW BAROKA FC COACH ON PITSO MOSIMANE AND RULANI MOKWENA LEVEL?

“He is in the top three [coaches]. If we take out the likes of Pitso [Mosimane] and Rulani [Mokwena] he should be top of that league,” he said.

“So he is the best in terms of knowing football. The only difference between them [Mosimane and Mokwena] and Dan is that Dan plays beautiful football.

“So when it comes to beautiful football he is number one. That one I can [vouch for him], there is no coach who plays beautiful football more than Dan Malesela, No,” Mphahlele added.

DAN MALESELA WILL COST BAROKA FC A FORTUNE

The charismatic boss admitted that bringing Malesela to the club doesn’t come cheap.

“So it’s a bold move on our side because he is a very expensive man. You see the car he is driving, I can’t drive that car. It’s a bold move. But we believe that because we have the support of our Sponsors, Global, we will be able to make it.

“Where there are difficulties, there are always on board to come and assist, so we’ll make it. Fortunate favours the brave, so we made a brave move, and let’s see what will happen.”
