Three SA stars continue shining abroad
Three top South African footballers, striker Lyle Foster, Bongokuhle Hlongwane, and Siyabonga Ngezana are stopping at nothing to raise the country’s flag high abroad.
Barely a week after receiving high praises from Vincent Kompany when they beat Luton Town, striker Lyle Foster gave another good account of himself on Saturday.
The ex-Orlando Pirates striker, Foster was the provider for Wilson Odobert’s goal when Burnley lost 4-1 to Chelsea.
Burnley were first to score after 15 minutes but they crumbled like a deck of cards as Chelsea clawed back to an emphatic win.
The Bafana Bafana striker remains with three goals to his name in the English Premier League.
HOW SA STAR SIYABONGA NGEZANA FARED
Meanwhile, former Kaizer Chiefs man Siyabonga Ngezana gave a good shift to help Fotbal Club Steaua București [FCSB] on Saturday.
They beat bottom-placed FC Botsani 1-0 to bounce back to winning ways after a 2-2 draw with FC Universitatea Cluj last weekend.
Ngezana has established himself as FCSB’s defense mainstay in the absence of the injured centre-back Vlad Chiriches.
He has featured in five out of the last six league games played, where the team won four times.
BONGOKUHLE HLONGWANE CONTINUES WITH GOOD STRIDES
Speedy attacker Bongokuhle Hlongwane was on also a parade in the Major League Soccer on Sunday morning.
The former Maritzburg United player provided two assists as Minnesota United beat LA Galaxy 5-2.
According to Minnesota United, Hlongwane has registered five assists, the highest number in the team so far.
Bongokuhle Hlongwane has eight goals under his belt. And he is certainly expected to be instrumental for Bafana Bafana in the upcoming fixtures.
On the other hand, Cassius Mailula was a second-half substitute as Toronto FC lost 3-0 to New York RB on Sunday.
Njabulo Blom also played as St Louis City lost 3-0 to Vancouver FC on Thursday.
