Hlompho Kekana: How Sundowns can win without Bafana stars

Mamelodi Sundowns legend Hlompho Kekana has revealed how the Brazilians can win when they face TS Galaxy in the Carling Knockout Cup without Bafana Bafana stars.

The Tshwane giants will have to do without seven stars who travelled with the national team to Ivory Coast. These are namely; Themba Zwane, Ronwen Williams, Khuliso Mudau, Mothobi Mvala, Grant Kekana, Teboho Mokoena and Aubrey Modiba.

The quarter-final match against The Rockets will be played on Wednesday at Mbombela Stadium.

HLOMPHO KEKANA SAYS MAMELODI SUNDOWNS HAS THE RESOURCES TO DEFEAT TS GALAXY

The former skipper believes the club is still strong without Bafana Bafana stars and has all it takes in terms of playing personnel to come out victorious.

“With the coaches, I can easily say before the season starts, they’ve already practised what is required out of the players,” Kekana told PitchsidePodcast.

“Surely they know their schemes. They don’t have to dig deep and try to think what is the next move when they’re here.

“So I think the players that are here they’ve been playing together for quite some time. They know what the demands of the team are saying to you.”

HLOMPHO KEKANA SAYS THE PLAYERS HAVE TO ADAPT TO THE PLAYING PHILOSOPHY

Kekana further stressed the importance of players adapting to the coach’s style of play to ensure they get a positive result.

“More than anything it’s just to adapt to the philosophy of the coach. That has helped over the past year’s games.

“We have seen the changes that the coach has made, the players that came in played their hearts out,” Kekana added.
