Bernard Parker issues update on his horrific injury setback

TS Galaxy attacker Bernard Parker has issued an update on the horrific injury setback he sustained on Wednesday.

Parker was unlucky as he suffered a career-threatening injury against Mamelodi Sundowns in the Carling Knockout Cup quarter-final following a horrific tackle by Bongani Zungu just before the hour mark.

The 37-year-old therefore couldn’t finish the match as he was stretched off with a broken leg.

On the other hand, for the dangerous challenge, Zungu received his marching orders as he was shown a straight red card.

“Thank you to everybody who sent messages, especially the other soccer clubs. To the supporters, thank you for the well wishes and all the love that you’ve shown.

“See you guys soon on the field, God bless, One love.”

Now Parker’s focus will shift to recovering and getting better.

Parker’s injury is a huge blow for The Rockets as he’s one of the key players with a lot of experience.

This season he made nine appearances in all competitions. However, he was yet to find the back of the net or provide an assist.
