PSL club snap up Keletso Makgalwa

Following his exit from Mamelodi Sundowns, Keletso Makgalwa has been snapped up by a PSL club.

Makgalwa parted ways with Sundowns on mutual consent as he was not in the plans of Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena for the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season.

The pacey attacker started the 2022/23 campaign on loan at TS Galaxy but left the club in December 2022 before the conclusion of his loan spell.

Makgalwa went on to have another loan stint with NFD outfit All-Stars in the second round of the last season. He made 13 appearances for All Stars and scored two goals.

After parting company with Sundowns on the last day of the transfer window, Makgalwa has penned a deal with the Motsepe Foundation Championship Upington City FC.

KELETSO MAKGALWA SIGN FOR UPINGTON CITY

The 26-year-old joins Upington City on a short-term deal after leaving Sundowns a few weeks ago.

Makgalwa is signed alongside Bonginkosi Makume and former Polokwane City striker Joseph Mhlongo. The trio will bring a much-needed experience to the Northern Cape-based side.

Upington City have had a poor start to their maiden season in Motsepe Foundation after being promoted from the ABC Motsepe League at the start of the campaign.

Bafana Ba Gucci, as they are famously known, managed to win only one game, drawing three while losing another three. They are sitting 13th on the log with six points after seven matches played.

“Upington City is delighted to announce the signing of Keletso Makgalwa and Bonginkosi Makume, Welcome,” City announced in a statement.

The Thulani Nkosi-coached team will face Marumo Gallants on Saturday, 21 October at Isak Steyl Stadium as they aim to end their winless run.

City last collected maximum points in the league when they beat Venda Football Academy 2-1 on the 2nd of September.
