Why Seema is not surprised by Ndumiso Mabena’s performances
Polokwane City coach Lehlohonolo Seema has explained why he doesn’t get surprised by Ndumiso Mabena’s performances.
Mabena was voted man of the match following his excellent performances during the 4-1 win against SuperSport United in the Carling Knockout on Sunday.
The 36-year-old has made a huge impact since his arrival from Orlando Pirates and was recently rewarded with a goal against his former side Royal AM.
Seema worked with Mabena for three seasons at now-defunct Bloemfontein Celtic before they were sold to Royal AM.

The 43-year-old has hailed Mabena as an intelligent player who knows what is expected of him.
“I feel more happy about the guys that are playing with him than him,” said Seema.
‘I know him well but the youngsters that are around him are the ones that have surprised me and I am happy for that. But for him I am not surprised, it’s what I expected from him. I am just happy with the youngsters that are around him.
“I know him very well, he is a good player and we worked well at Bloemfontein Celtic. He understands the game and he is a smart player. A player that can bring the team together even off the field because he is an intelligent player,” he said.

Seema says there were questions raised when they signed Mabena but they knew what they were doing.
“He is one of the guys that when we signed him people said we signed a 36-year-old. But we knew exactly what he can bring to the team.
“If he said so then let him go yo 40, I will be happy,” he said referring to when Mabena would want to retire.
