Lyle Foster shares insights into new Burnley FC deal

Bafana Bafana talisman Lyle Foster has shared insights into his decision to sign a new contract with Premier League side Burnley FC.

On Thursday, Burnley announced that Foster had put pen to paper on a five-year deal, that will keep him at the club until 2028.

The highly-rated hitman is flying high in England as he has hit the ground running in the Premier League with three goals and two assists to his name in seven league appearances.

Foster joined Burnley in January from Belgian side KVC Westerlo and made his debut for the club in the FA Cup against Ipswich Town.

He then scored his first goal for the Clarets in a 3-0 win over Wigan Athletic en route to his side winning the Championship title last season to gain automatic promotion back to the top flight.

Foster has been one of the standout players for Burnley in the PL, and the South African striker has explained his decision to sign a long-term contract at the cub.

“I’m very happy to stay here. It’s a club with very good people, and I have really enjoyed working here, and I’m pleased to extend my stay,” said Foster. “The supporters, Turf Moor, everything here. The way we organise ourselves and our standards is something I fell in love with.

“It’s a club that pushes towards excellence, and that’s something I want to be a part of.”

However, Burnley FC have had a poor start in the Premier League with a single win from their opening nine games.

They are in the relegation zone in 18th place on the log standings, but Foster remains steadfast in his belief that the Clarets will turn things around.

“I’m trying to stay focused and continue working hard. It’s a long season with lots of tough games, but as time goes on, I think we will grow stronger,” added the 23-year-old.

“We will have a good season. I have plenty of belief and confidence in the squad, the coaches, and everyone around the building. There is no need to stress. Just enjoy what we’re doing and there’s a recipe for success.”
