Lucas Radebe on Lyle Foster’s start in the Premier League

Bafana Bafana and Leeds United legend Lucas Radebe has shared his opinion on Lyle Foster’s start to the Premier League.

Radebe had a successful spell in England during his playing days and it seems like Foster is slowly following in his steps with Burnley FC.

Like Radebe, who did well in the national team set-up, Foster is performing well for the 1996 AFCON champions. The former Monaco striker has scored four goals in 11 matches.

According to stats, the 23-year-old striker have fared so well with the Clarets so far in his first season in the English topflight. Despite the club’s struggles as they lay in the relegation zone [18th on the log standings] he’s the top scorer.

The former Orlando Pirates striker has been directly involved in five goals in seven league matches. The Burnley talisman has found the back of the net three times and provided two assists in the process.

For his consistent performances and hard work on the field of play, the goal poacher was rewarded with a new deal on Thursday. He signed a new five-year contract which will keep him with the English side until 2028.

“[He’s been] amazing, I think for me it’s a good start. He’s scoring goals and he has become an integral part in the team,” said Radebe at UEFA Europa trophy showcase.

“Surely, the pressure is on him [to deliver] and you can see he’s taking it very well and he’s enjoying the game.

“He just have to work keep his head up and work hard in matches and at training.”

Foster is inline to feature against Bournemouth FC in their next league assignment on the road. Kickoff on Saturday at the Vitality Stadium is at 4pm.
