Cavin Johnson picks one positive from Chiefs defeat to Arrows

Kaizer Chiefs interim coach Cavin Johnson has shared his thoughts on his side’s defeat to Golden Arrows, revealing a positive he took from the match.

Amakhosi lost 2-1 to Abafana Bes’thende in the DStv Premiership clash at the Mpumalanga Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

It was the fifth defeat for the Glamour Boys and their first match under the guidance of their caretaker coach Johnson.

Despite dropping points, the former Platinum Stars coach is optimistic about the future having seen their ability to create goal-scoring opportunities. He felt they created more chances than the home side.

CAVIN JOHNSON SHARES VERDICT ON DEFEAT AT THE HANDS OF ARROWS

“Yeah, I thought we had a good game all around, I thought we played with a lot better ability,” he told the media after the match.

“They were more compact, we missed a few chances in the first half. We should have taken four chances that we had. And we would come out a lot better now.

“Arrows had two shots at goal and they scored two goals. We had like, I don’t know but we had more than them I’m sure. You guys counted how much. I’m not lying.

“You know the position we find ourselves in and where we have been before. The play was a little bit more calmer and a little bit more technically unkind as to what they were doing on the pitch, we should have at least gone home with a point.

“For me, I’m we played better but I’m not happy we are going home with [a defeat].”

The Soweto giants sit ninth on the log standings after accumulating just 11 points from nine games.

Kaizer Chiefs will be looking to get back to winning ways when they host Cape Town Spurs in the league match on Wednesday, 8 November at 7:30 pm at FNB Stadium.
