Broos announces Bafana preliminary squad for World Cup qualifiers
Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has announced a 44-member preliminary squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers next month.
South Africa will take on Benin at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on the weekend of 17 to 19 November.
They will then travel to Huye to face Rwanda on Tuesday, 21 November. The squad is expected to assemble on Monday, 13 November in Pretoria and travel to Durban on 16 October.
The squad will be trimmed to 23 players when coach Broos announces his final list for the two matches.
NEW FACES IN HUGO BROOS SQUAD
Polokwane City forward Oswin Appollis is in the squad after some great performances. Pirates striker and a former regular in the Broos squad Evidence Makgopa also makes a surprise return. DStv Premiership second-placed Golden Arrows also have some representatives in the squad after some impressive displays this season.
