Richards Bay FC head coach Kaitano Tembo has made an honest admission about his future at the club.
Tembo was speaking after his side succumbed to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Cape Town City FC in the DStv Premiership on Sunday.
He has admitted he’s concerned about his future as the club continues to struggle to get desired results.
Under Tembo’s leadership, the Natal Rich Boyz have recorded one win, three draws, and six losses.
These disappointing results have left the team in the 15th position on the log standings with six points ahead of the 16th-placed Cape Town Spurs FC.
Moreover, the club continues to hunt for their first home league victory. The last time Tembo’s side kept maximum points at home was on 31 December 2022 against Moroka Swallows FC.

“Obviously, when you don’t win games, it’s always worrying but at the same time I think for me what is important is to continue working very hard with the team because I feel that we can turn things around,” Tembo said.
“We just need a little bit of luck as well because we are playing against teams that don’t really create much but they score goals.
“With us, we have to create probably ten clear-cut chances for us to be able to score a goal. So, it’s always gonna be difficult. We just have to continue working hard.”
RELEGATION PRESSURE
Additionally, given the club’s precarious position in the relegation zone of the league standings, Tembo has acknowledged that the mental toll of this situation is affecting the team.
“For us, it’s different. The more you stay down there, the more it affects you mentally. So, we need to work hard and try and move away from there because if you are talking about winning the title, it’s totally different for us where we are at the moment. For us we have to try and work a little bit more and try and turn things around,” Tembo added.
