Positive update after Pitso Mosimane’s health scare

There is a positive update after legendary South African coach Pitso Mosimane’s health scare this week.

The Al Wahda coach in the UAE Pro League was admitted to hospital earlier this week in Abu Dhabi after experiencing a sudden illness.

A UAE publication reported that Mosimane suffered from shortness of breath and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Causes of shortness of breath as outlined by the National Health Service (NHS) include a chest infection, asthma, smoking and a panic attack.

“But sometimes shortness of breath could be a sign of something more serious, such as: a lung condition called chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, scarring of the lungs known as idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, heart failure and lung cancer.”

As a result breathlessness, Mosimane was kept in the hospital for observation and treatment for the last two days with his assistant coach, Maahier Davids, running the show at the Al Wahda training grounds.

However, FARPost has been reliably informed that the former Mamelodi Sundowns coach has been discharged from hospital.

He is expected to return to the dugout when his Al Wahda take on Ajman FC away from home on Saturday.

Mosimane’s side is currently in sixth place on the UAE Pro League log standings after a lukewarm start to the season. They have won three wins and lost three in their opening six games.

And with pressure mounting and reports of Mosimane’s job being on the line, a win over Ajman, who are struggling in 14th place, second from the bottom of the log will see Al Wahda make it two wins in a row.

Mosimane and his side ended had their winless streak last week with a 2-1 victory over Al-Ittihad Kalba and the SA coach will be hoping to keep Al Wahda’s winning formula at the weekend.
