Pretoria Callies identify Kwanele Kopo’s replacement?
Motsepe Foundation Championship Pretoria Callies has reportedly identified a potential replacement for Kwanele Kopo, who tendered his resignation as the club’s head coach.
The former SuperSport United assistant, coach, Kopo, stepped down from his duties as the results have not been forthcoming. So far, Callies has played 10 matches, playing seven draws and losing three in the process.
As things stands, Callies are languishing at the basement of the Motsepe Foundation Championship with seven points after 10 games.
At the beginning of the season, Kopo was heavily linked with a move to DStv Premiership side Chippa United to work as an assistant coach to Morgan Mammila.
Kopo saved the side from the chop last season, as they started the campaign on the wrong foot. Callies managed to finish the campaign in position eight with 40 points after 30 outings.
MACHETE MOLOTO FOLLOWS KWANELE KOPO
In a turn of events, FARPost has been reliably informed that assistant coach Machete Moloto has also resigned as the club’s assistant coach.
Machete was on the bench when the side suffered a 2-0 defeat to Casric Stars this past Wednesday.
KWANELE KOPO’S POTENTIAL REPLACEMENT
This publication has also been reliably informed that Callies have roped in former Baroka FC coach Bushy Moloi.
Moloi replaced Vincent Kobola at Bakgaga which was his second stint at the club. He previously worked as an assistant coach during Wedson Nyirenda’s tenure.
To put a cherry on top, Moloi was in charge of the club’s training session this morning.
Callies’ next assignment will be against NB La Masia on Sunday, 5 November 2023.
The game will take place at TUT Stadium, with the kick-off set for 15:30.
Callies will be gunning to register their first win of the season and climb up the log standings.
