PSL confirm date and procedure for CKO semi-final draw

The PSL have confirmed the Carling Knockout Cup semi-final draw procedure and the date on which it will take place.

The battle to secure the spots in the last four takes place this upcoming weekend with eight clubs combating in the quarter-finals.

Polokwane City and Stellenbosch FC face off in the first quarter-final on Friday, 3 November at 7:30 pm at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

And on Saturday there will be a double-header at the Moses Mabhida Stadium with Richards Bay FC welcoming Orlando Pirates at 3:00 pm before the KZN derby takes place later at 7:00 pm between Golden Arrows and AmaZulu FC.

The last quarter-final of the day will see Sekhukhune United lock horns with TS Galaxy at 8:00 pm. The match will be played at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Now, PSL have confirmed that the draw for the semi-finals will be conducted on Monday, 6 November at 8:30 pm on Extra Time at SuperSport TV studios.

Moreover, unlike in the round of 16 and the quarter-final draws, this time around the draw will be unseeded. All four teams are going to be thrown into one bowl.

PSL STATEMENT ON CKO SEMI-FINAL DRAW

“The Carling Knockout semi-final draw will be conducted on Monday night, 06 November 2023,” said the PSL statement.

“The draw will be LIVE on the popular television sports show, Extra Time, which airs on SuperSport PSL channel (202) from 20h30.

“As per tournament rules, the semi-final draw is unseeded.

DRAW PROCEDURE

“-No seeding

“- All the four club names will go into one bowl.

“- The first club to be drawn will be at home (first semi-final).

“- The second club to be drawn will be away (first semi-final).

“- The same process will be repeated in deciding the second semi-final.”
