Sekhukhune United make decision on Brandon Truter
Sekhukhune United have made a decision on their head coach Brandon Truter after days of speculations over his future at the club.
Truter was said to have held talks with the club’s hierarchy this week to discuss his future after a poor run of results.
However, they held onto him as he was in the dugout when they lost to TS Galaxy in the Carling Knockout Cup on Saturday.
On the other hand, his colleagues, the assistant coach Morgan Gould and the goalkeeper coach Johan Abselon were sacked in midweek. They were not part of the team on Saturday.
SEKHUKHUNE UNITED SACK BRANDON TRUTER
FARPost has learnt that Sekhukhune have dismissed Truter just a day after their exit from the Carling Knockout.
The Limpopo outfit has had a poor start to the 2022/23 season, losing five, drawing two and winning three of the ten DStv Premiership matches they have played this season. Meanwhile, early in the season, they also got trashed by Orlando Pirates 5-0 in the MTN8 quarter-final.
They are tenth on the log standings having only accumulated 11 points.
However, despite their struggles in domestic football, ‘Brakkies’ led Babina Noko to the CAF Confederations Cup group stages.
Truter joined Sekhukhune in November 2022, replacing Kaitano Tembo who’s now spearheading Richards Bay FC.
He had an impressive spell in his first six months at the club, leading the side to the Nedbank Cup final where they lost to Orlando Pirates. Truter’s men also finished the 2022/23 season in 7th place, qualifying for the MTN8.
