Kaizer Chiefs rising star joins TS Galaxy

A highly-rated Kaizer Chiefs product has joined TS Galaxy as he looks to establish himself in SA’s top-flight and shift his game a gear up.

The 19-year-old right-back was recently released by Amakhosi following a disciplinary issue, but he was not short of suitors.

He parted ways with Amakhosi under controversial circumstances. The young exciting defender was reportedly among a group of Chiefs players who refused to act as ball boys for a Carling Knockout Cup match against AmaZulu FC in August.

However, Puso Dithejane has since found a new home as he penned a deal with Galaxy, the DStv Premiership club announced on Monday evening.

The Rockets reportedly made contact with the youngster a few weeks ago, expressing their interest in his services.

The Tim Sukazi-owned club is known for developing young players. Aphelele Teto’s career path would be appealing to Dithejane.

TS Galaxy allowed the 20-year-old to move to Scottish side Livingston on a four-year contract. The two clubs struck a deal where there was no upfront payment.

The move demonstrated how The Rockets are willing to let go of young talents to go and develop.

The former Chiefs DStv Diski Challenge defender, Dithejane, is one of the most promising youth players in SA football.

TS GALAXY ANNOUNCE ARRIVAL OF CHIEFS STAR

“We are pleased to announce our signing of Puso Dithejane, who previously played for the Kaizer Chiefs DDC team. Welcome home Young Rocket,” reads the brief Galaxy statement.

Galaxy beat several clubs to Dithejane’s signature as Sekhukhune United and Supersport United were also said to be interested in acquiring the services of the player.

Dithejane is a defender with a lot of potential. He has already represented South Africa at youth level and Bafana Bafana.

The talented player started a match at the 2023 COSAFA Senior Men’s tournament in July before joining Chiefs’ senior team for the pre-season.

And the one factor that Dithejane considered when choosing Galaxy is playing time. The teenager is a player who needs to play regularly to develop.

He, therefore, wanted a club where he was likely to get a starting spot and Dithejane felt Galaxy was the right fit.
