Kaizer Motaung Jr speaks on facing CT Spurs without fans

Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr has shared his thoughts on facing strugglers, Cape Town Spurs without their fervent fans.

The Soweto giants’ were slapped with a one-game stadium ban for fan misbehaviour during the club’s Carling Knockout Cup tie against AmaZulu FC.

This means they will miss their fans in Wednesday’s DStv Premiership encounter against struggling Cape Town Spurs at FNB Stadium.

The decision was made by the PSL Disciplinary Committee [DC] after a no holds barred hearing last week.

Kaizer Chiefs fell at the mercy of the DC after being charged for spectator misbehaviour when their fans failed to stomach the 1-0 loss to AmaZulu FC.

That loss saw them crashing out of yet another knockout competition. The angry fans threw missiless at the beleaguered coach Molefi Ntseki, who has since being fired.

While they will miss the fans, the club faces a further risk of playing another home match at a neutral venue. But that is only if they are found guilty of a similar offence this season.

“We are going to miss them on Wednesday due to the one-match suspension. They are our 12th men. We need them more but still we have to be focused on our mission at hand,” Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr said.

“We are going give our utmost best to restore their pride because we know that they are hurt at the moment in time.

“And we are also hurt, we are with them, we feel their pain. We are together, we are not a distance from them. Also note that we are working tirelessly so that we can bring back their respect and pride.

“Anyone who wears the gold and black, even if it’s a player or staff in the office. We ask them to come together and understand that we are stronger together, we need them, we value them alot.”

In this one, new coach Cavin Johnson will be aiming to get his first win in charge of Kaizer Chiefs.

Moreso, the win will be a perfect build-up to the Soweto Derby against Orlando Pirates on Saturday. Kaizer Chiefs last won on 27 September when they beat Sekhukhune United 2-1.

Afterwards, they lost to Cape Town City, Amazulu and Golden Arrows in the league and Carling Knockout Cup.
