Lorch’s utmost promise to Pirates fans ahead of Soweto Derby

Orlando Pirates winger Thembinkosi Lorch has made an utmost promise to the Buccaneers’ fans ahead of the much-awaited Soweto Derby at the weekend.

Pirates will take on Kaizer Chiefs in a DStv Premiership clash on Saturday, 11 November 2023. The kick-off is scheduled for 15:30.

Lorch has been instrumental for the Sea Robbers since his return from injury.

The talented winger has played six games across all competitions for Pirates this campaign.

To prove how instrumental Lorch has been for the Bucs, from those six matches he won three Man of the Match accolades.

THEMBINKOSI LORCH ON SOWETO DERBY

In a post-match interview after receiving his Man of the Match award, the 30-year-old footballer promised Pirates faithful nothing but a win against Amakhosi on Saturday.

“Another tough game against tough opponents. I think tomorrow we are off, we need to recover and we will see,” said Lorch on SuperSport TV.

“We have to plan for them like we always do with other games. We are going there to win.

“Every game that we play we want three points. So, we are going there to win.”

A WIN AGAINST SEKHUKHUNE UNITED A BOOST FOR ORLANDO PIRATES

Lorch went on to say that a win against Sekhukhune United will give them a boost going into the Soweto Derby.

“It was very important to get maximum points because we have not been doing well. Four games without getting the results,” he added.

“So, it will obviously give us a boost going into another game on Saturday [against Chiefs].”

Lorch will be hoping to continue with his fine form against Chiefs at the weekend and lead his side to the promised land.

As things stands, Pirates are placed ninth on the DStv Premiership log standings with 12 points from nine outings.
