The area of concern Makhubedu needs to fix at Sekhukhune
Sekhukhune United interim coach MacDonald Makhubedu has pinpointed the area of concern Babina Noko need to fix and improve on to get fruitful results moving forward.
Makhubedu was speaking after their 1-0 defeat to Orlando Pirates in a DStv Premiership encounter at Orlando Stadium on Tuesday night.
The Limpopo club’s interim coach reckons that his players need to improve on their failure to bury their goalscoring opportunities.
Babina Noko only managed to score one goal in their last six matches, and that has raised many eyebrows.
MACDONALD MAKHUBEDU ON SEKHUKHUNE UNITED’S LACK OF KILLER INSTINCT
According to Makhubedu, the best way to fix the issue of converting their clear-cut chances is for the players to put in extra effort and work hard at training sessions together with their strikers’ coach Collins Mbesuma.
“When you check the players we have, especially attacking players, we have the players any coach would wish to have,” said Makhubedu when asked about the club’s lack of killer instinct.
“So, our strikers’ coach Collins Mbesuma has been working very hard with them in terms of the analysis, on the ground.
“The very same players that have been scoring before are the ones who have been playing on the six games you’re talking about.”
MACDONALD MAKHUBEDU BELIEVES THEY WILL GET IT RIGHT
However, Makhubedu insists that his troops will get right soon as they plan to “revisit” what they have been doing before the goalscoring problem arose.
“I don’t believe in luck because I believe the time will come when they will get bit right. But we have been trying and you could see. I think when we played Arrows, we had 13 shots at goal and maybe six on target. Polokwane City game we had more shots on target,” he added.
“Last week against TS Galaxy we tried everything in powers, but the ball just couldn’t get inside the net. So, we will go back and try to make sure that we work on that.
“But the very same players who have been scouring before are the same players that are playing now. I don’t know what’s happened in the last six games.”
Makhubedu continued: “We have to lift up their confidence and tell them how good they are and revisit some of the things that we did before when they were scoring goals. I think that’s the thing but I know they will get it right.”
