Al-Wahda part ways with Pitso Mosimane

UAE Pro League side Al-Wahda has announced that they have parted ways with SA coach Pitso Mosimane.

The club confirmed the news on Friday, stating that Arno Buitenweg will take over the coaching reins following the departure of the former Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana mentor.

AL-WAHDA OFFICIAL STATEMENT

“Al-Wahda terminates its contract with Pitso Mosimane by mutual consent,” read the club’s statement.

“Al Wahda Football Club Company announces that it has reached an agreement with South African technical director Pitso Mosimane to terminate the contract by mutual consent between the two parties.

“The management of Al Wahda Football Club Company decided to appoint Mr. Arno Buitenweg as coach of the first team during the coming period, wishing him success.”

Mosimane joined Al-Wahda in June 2023, a few days after parting ways with Al Ahli Saudi.

The four-time UAE Pro League champions had hoped that Mosimane would guide the side to the promised land given his extensive experience of the beautiful game.

The 59-year-old mentor was over the moon to have joined the UAE Pro League outfit together with his usual technical team.

Mosimane’s technical team consisted of Maahier Davids, Kabelo Rangoaga, Musi Matlaba, Kyle Solomon, and Hamad Alyami.

The ex-Al Ahly coach had revealed that he opted to join Al-Wahda because he was happy with the club’s vision.
