Egyptian giants and Asian club express interest in Shaune Mogaila
An Egyptian side and an Asian club are among the contenders to sign the Royal AM right-back Shaune Mogaila.
Mogaila was linked with an exit from Royal AM before the start of the season with a reported interest from some local clubs including Orlando Pirates.
However, he stayed put and is one of the key players for the club especially as they couldn’t make new signings due to the transfer ban.
He has featured in all 11 games across all competitions the club has played so far this season.
Thwihli Thwahla may be forced to sell the defender with the clubs joining the race for his signature.
PYRAMIDS AND FC NASAF INTERESTED IN SIGNING SHAUNE MOGAILA
According to FARPost sources, the Egyptian giants Pyramids FC and an Uzbekistan club, FC Nasaf have both approached Royal AM for the services of Mogaila.
Pyramids already have a South African player on their books, Fagrie Lakay. The Bafana Bafana striker joined Egypt Premier League log leaders in January 2022 from Cape Town City.
Should Mogaila make a switch to the Cairo-based outfit, he would be the third SA player in the Egyptian top-flight after Al Ahly’s Percy Tau and Lakay.
NASAF’S MEETING WITH ROYAL AM
Meanwhile, FC Nasaf play in the Uzbekistan Super League and are currently second on the log standings.
Moreover, Nasaf’s Sporting Director and Royal AM will soon meet to hold talks over the potential transfer of the player.
Mogaila made a move from TS Galaxy to Royal AM in January 2022. He has made over 50 appearances in all competitions, scored four goals and provided six assists.
In July, he was part of the Bafana Bafana squad that participated in the COSAFA Cup in Durban.
