Ayanda Patosi eyes DStv Premiership return
Former Bafana Bafana midfielder Ayanda Patosi is eyeing a return to the and is scheduled to start training with a DStv Premiership side.
Patosi left Iranian side Foolad FC in January 2023 after three years in the Middle East. The 30-year-old won the Iran Cup and Iran Super Cup before parting ways with Foolad.
Patosi had reportedly not joined the team on time when they returned from the mid-season break. During his stint with Foolad, he rose to become an important figure at the club.
In over 80 appearances he racked up, Patosi found the back of the net 18 times and provided 10 assists.
WHICH DSTV PREMIERSHIP TEAM AYANDA PATOSI WILL START TRAINING WITH
Soon after, it was reported that he was in talks with Sekhukhune United, but that deal did not materialise. FARPost has learnt that the man nicknamed ‘Deco’ is poised to start training with Cape Town Spurs this week.
“Patosi is set to begin training with Spurs tomorrow. Although he may not be in peak condition, we’ll have to wait and see,” disclosed a reliable source.
“While his pace might be a concern, he could bring valuable PSL experience and impressive offensive skills if he can replicate his previous successes in Iran and with Cape Town City.”
Landing Patosi’s signature would boost Technical Director Sean Connor’s side. They have only managed to win one game all season against Soweto giants Orlando Pirates.
The Urban Warriors are sitting at rock bottom and need a change of luck. So far, Spurs have brought in English duo Sam Ramsbottom and Tremaine Eastmond, with the latter yet to make an appearance due to work permit issues.
Nicholus Lukhubeni, Siyanda Msani, on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns, and another former Downs attacker, Bradely Ralani, were the other new arrivals.
